At the center we explored some antique airplanes, some new airplanes, some space craft, and even saw an actual atom bomb casing (used in testing). I think the most popular part of the museum however was the adventure center where we got to try our hand at flying a hot air balloon, landing and flying planes, and even a hand glider...all simulated of course...but awesome.
After leaving the museum we stopped to get some Culvers...Andrew has a hard time driving by them...but neither Jon nor I mind, it's delicious! Back at the house we settled down and debriefed with a little mindless t.v....Bridezillas...yes bridezillas...then we took a break and played some frisbee with the kids; Maddie and Ryan had a never ending supply of energy, but eventually we all retired back to the living room for a little more relaxation...Relaxation seems to be a plentiful resource on this trip ;) Around 11 p.m. Andrew, Jon and I headed off to bed.
This morning Maddie and Ryan wasted no time waking us up before they left for summer school/camp. We all got to spend a little time together before they left, and then we packed up ready to head out by 8:30 a.m. We said our goodbye to Kim and headed off.
That's pretty much it for today. Oh, and we got a parting gift from Kim: Piggly Wiggly T-Shirts!
But lots of driving today. Currently typing from I-90W in Minnesota, by the end of the day we will have traversed 750 miles and will be right outside of Badlands N.P. Woohoo!

Oh hey son. :) Caves sounded cool maybe a little scary.. The museum looked awesome. You guys must have loved the flight simulators.
ReplyDeleteKim thanks for showing them such a great time! And taking such great care of all of them! And especially for the piggly wiggly t-shirts!
Can't wait for the next adventure. xo
....windmills :)
ReplyDeleteWe loved having all the boys here! I will say it's going to be a long time before I eat another Culvers cheeseburger again! Madelyn and Ryan loved sleeping in the van, me? it was..ok. lol. Not a lot of head room on the top bunk. Thankfully the night we driveway camped, Madelyn and her friend were able to hold off some ding dong ditchers! We tried to give Adam the Wisconsin experience-- cheese curds, The cave, Badger Sports Park (the kids favorite hang out), EAA, and of course Jonathan's favorite grocery store Piggly Wiggly. Adam is in trouble for leaving money when I told him not too!! :)
