- The Trip Home.. By Andrew The Rock Candy Mountain Climber
My last week consisted of a few final goal points for my trip: the Red Woods, Astoria (for the Goonies) and James and Mary’s house. We made it to the beautiful Redwoods, trees beyond believable size. Astoria was awesome. Getting to see were the Goonies was filmed has always been a childhood fantasy of mine. The house was different but recognizable. Got to see the jail where the movie first takes place and part of Cannon beach that is seen throughout the movie. The town is not shy about the fame of the Goonies, because we were only a few of those venturing up to see the house. Any store you go in can point you to any Goonie location you like. After that, we made it a short two hour drive to James and Mary’s house, which was a lot of fun. We just sort of hung out for the last of my road trip days, played some video games, went out to buffalo wild wings, and a lot of reminiscing. My time ended getting into SEA-TAC airport in WA at 11pm on Friday for a 1am flight on Saturday the 3rd of August. I arrived in Boston at 11am where I met up with Meghan on her birthday, and we went back to her place so I could take a short nap before we went to Stone Zoo, a Red Sox game and a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture show. I napped briefly, and then we were off to the Zoo, where I proudly broke the rules of staying behind the wooden fences. I grabbed two owl feathers, spotted and barn, taunted a mountain lion by sticking my finger in his cage, which really got him running over to me and nearly gave Meghan a heart attack at the same time. Next on the list was the Red Sox game, which was very cool and relaxing, because we got standing room only tickets in a new section that actually had seating at picnic tables. We sat down and drank beer for most of the game just enjoying the atmosphere of it all. Last on the birthday list was Rocky Horror Picture Show, which was very interesting if you had not attended the show before. If you hadn’t seen the show it meant you get a red V on your face in lipstick meaning virgin, and it’s the virgins they have fun with. First, it was making us all stand in a line and “grab the hips of the person in line beside you and thrust!” so those who could handle it humped each other, then “pick a favorite cartoon character”.. I’m thinking not so bad he picked woody wood pecker as my cartoon, after we all picked a cartoon character he then said “do their best orgasm” that was not so easy but I came in 2nd place. It was a good show they acted the entire movie out as the movie played. I thought they all did a wonderful job. Meghan knew at the beginning if she sat me on the end aisle seat that I would have a better chance getting to interact with the cast so I did just that and out of nowhere a pretty blond walks up to me mid-show and stuffed her breasts into my face. So, I had Meghan to thank for that. 2am the show was done. Meghan, Nicole and I went back to Meghan’s, where she made Apple martinis and it was just about sunlight when I decided I should go to sleep. The next day was brief with only 5-6hours of sleep in two days I was tired, and Meghan, Nicole and I went out for brunch at Johnny Ds, a great place to eat and listen to live music all day. I went to see a buddy that afternoon, but other than that my evening consisted of napping and eating Chinese food. It was the next day that was my final departure home to start surprising my family and friends, especially Lauren
